Newcastle Port Centre rooftop solar
Distributed energy resource
Solar (photovoltaic)
Project overview
The Port Authority of NSW installed a 35.6 kW rooftop solar system at its Newcastle Port Centre. The system will supply an average 150 kWh/day of electricity, which will be used to offset electricity use within the Centre. The Port Authority already offsets 100% of its electricity usage State-wide with renewable electricity generation through a power purchase agreement linked to a NSW solar farm and a NSW wind farm; this is the next step, supplying our own renewable energy, offsetting our electricity consumption.
