Project overview
The Kapalama Container Terminal Project funds: 1) upgrades to ship-to-shore cranes, new equipment, and solar panels for enhanced port reliability; 2) smart gate and security tech for improved safety and efficiency; 3) an electrical micro-grid for resilience; and 4) development of a Facility Resiliency Plan and Terminal Electrification Plan with community input. This project received $47,326,300 in PIDP 2022, with an estimated project cost of $555 million.
